Todays introspection

Why is it that every time I have ear buds in when I fart, I always take one ear bud out so that I can see how bad the flatulence in question actually is. Not to see how loud it is, which would make sense, but how bad it smells and if i need to start crop dusting. Last time I checked your olfactory sense is not connected to your ears. Realization? I am a moron.
